Global, independent commodity trading company covering oil, gas and power markets has an exciting opportunity for a Post Qual Accountant to join their team of 20 staff, for a 6 month initial contract, reporting to the Financial Controller.
Support the Financial Controller:
•To perform a detailed review of the UK Balance Sheet, focusing on the completeness and accuracy of all reported numbers for 31 March Year End.
•Ensure appropriate reconciliation’s, control schedules and documentation are in place to explain and support the balances for each area, on a monthly basis going forward.
•Propose and develop new controls and/or efficiency measures as appropriate.
•Documentation of the agreed accounting process and controls required for each category of accounts.
•Investigate and deliver enhancements to the way we use Sun Accounts and Vision reporting currently.
•Liaise with our third-party software provider where regarding testing and configuration changes.
•SUN reference data review and clean up.
•Assist with the co-ordination and provision of audit deliverables to the Group Auditors.
•Contribute to the development, documentation and delivery of the document retention strategy for Accounting, including the migration of financial records to Sharepoint.
•Must have worked in a controlling function previously, with experience of developing new report, processes and controls.
•Robust knowledge of accounting standards and best practice.
•SUN Accounts experience is desirable.
•Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation.
•3 year’s post qualified experience (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
