AI, BD and the Future of Recruiting: Recruitment Agency Expo 2026

We were delighted to attend this year’s Recruitment Agency Expo, hosted at Excel London.

The main conversation this year centred around AI and automation – particularly the expansion of new software tools that optimise AI usage. We were fortunate enough to demo the latest innovations hitting our sector, keen to learn as much as possible about a technology that is going to set the new standard in Recruiting Operations.

From tailored CV searches and scraping methodologies, to automatically updating fresh data rather than manually inputting, it was exciting to see the newest possibilities already on offer in this new moment for our industry.

We were excited as well to demo the latest CRMs the industry has to offer and how they are optimising these tools.

It was clear to see that the CRMs being built now are placing AI as the systems’ skeleton. This overall promises a more efficient product line, with the models coming complete with all the latest technological features on arrival – rather than them being just add-ons and extensions.

Simply put, the industry is getting faster – and we are ready for this change.

It was encouraging too, to hear optimism rather than pessimism about AI – with the main feeling being that it will enhance and not diminish the services our industry provides. It was clear to us that striking up a proportional relationship with AI, using it in ways that improve efficiency while also maintaining an auditing eye over what it produces, is the key to maximising success.

During the day, we heard talks from renowned industry professionals, such as Greg Savage, who talked to us about the importance of failure and “bouncebackability”.

We also heard from Dragons’ Den’s very own Theo Paphitis, who talked to us about his career and the need to channel passion throughout one’s business practices.

Overall, the day proved highly useful – and it was great to catch up with some of the many industry colleagues we have known throughout the years.
