Who We Are

Set up in 1985 as a specialist IT recruitment agency with the intention of providing a different type of service that would work equally well for the contractors that we represent and for the wide range of companies that soon started to rely the speed and accuracy of the recruitment services offered at sensible mark-ups without the need for harsh negotiation.

Our founder and director, Adrian Newton, an IT contractor working within the HP specialist skills niche market sector, was determined to set up a new breed of agency focused around service delivery, honesty and transparency.

Today, nearly 40 years later, the partnership established during the early days of IT still recognises those early values and still makes innovative changes that have encompassed technological advances, enhanced the talent acquisition strategies of the companies that we work with and built a long-standing trust within the IT contractor community that relies on our services time and time again.

It’s a success story that we are proud of; a professional recruitment agency that has grown through the challenges of Y2K, through two recessions in the UK and lately through the different phases of the IR35 legislation and the agency worker regulations.

Despite the restrictions of the Covid-19 lockdowns, EagleCliff Recruitment continued working remotely to support the business operations of the companies that we work with, ensuring that resources were able to continue providing valuable services remotely as well during such a period of confusion and potential disruption. Emergency contingency measures were for the first time pushed to their limits but worked seamlessly, ensuring that all contractors were paid on time as usual and that recruitment activities were reintroduced once the initial periods of uncertainty were over.

We continue to expand today and have built an enviable database of IT contractors with a focus within the energy sector, encompassing change management as well within the corporate business sector. Niche skills include a range of ETRM skills such as Endur and Align, front office trading technologists enhancing the efficiencies of systematic trading operations backed up with innovative AI, data science and architecture combined with projects and technology teams covering the full software development lifecycle and beyond.
